Great Thoughts Come From the Heart

I recently came across this wonderful saying in a Chinese Fortune Cookie.
Goes to show, wisdom and inspiration can come from unlikely sources!
I liked it so much I tucked it in my wallet.

Thinking about this today I reflected that,
as I embarked upon the journey of writing my memoir,
my intention and prayer, first and foremost, was to come from my heart.
I’m happy to say I feel I succeeded.
I was speaking with a person I’d just met, and she stated,
“That’s why you made #4 Bestseller, you wrote from the heart.”
Music to my ears and soul.

For years, decades, I’ve worked on allowing myself to both feel more,
and express more feeling, something still not easy or totally natural for me.
Yes, both feeling and expressing feelings feel a lot more vulnerable
than sticking with thoughts and thinking.
On the subject of vulnerability, I highly recommend Brene Brown’s bestseller,
’Daring Greatly’ as well as her off the charts Ted Talk.

As I prepare to enter the next phase of this stage of my life, as a keynote speaker,
my intention and prayer is to speak from my heart. Feels scary.
I do so well speaking from prepared notes…can I ‘let go’ of my notes
and just feel into what to share from the heart?
I certainly trust I can, as I do believe,
great thoughts, and truths, come from the heart.

"The future belongs to those who believe
in the beauty of their dreams.”

Eleanor Roosevelt
