Daring to Dare in 2016

Daring to dream, daring to do, daring to live, really live, full out.
This is my intention for 2016.
I didn’t even know that, until just now as I typed the words!

How many of us can say we live each day fully, as if there’s no tomorrow?
We’ve read stories and maybe even know people,
who were given a “second chance” at life.
Thereafter, their life was changed forever –
they saw the world, and their life, through very different eyes.
Their priorities shifted, as they came to know what was truly important and meaningful to them.
Usually this was spending more time with loved ones,
and finally taking action on their life’s purpose and dream.

Without being morbid, we can live our life knowing that
any moment can be our last, that each breath is a gift,
and aim to live our best life, moment by moment.
We can aim to give our best to each task, to each interaction,
making each moment a present, to ourself, and to others.

Last year I started a practice of saying a prayer each morning as I awoke,
while still lying in bed.
I hold my right hand to my heart, and I give thanks for a good night’s sleep,
and for another day,
and I pray to be guided in all my thoughts, words and actions,
and for each interaction to be one of mutual blessing.
I believe this gratitude at the start of each day sets the tone for the rest of my day.

My other practice is to take “mini meditation breaks” throughout the day,
where I simply put my hand to my heart and give thanks and feel gratitude,
for everything and everyone, for life and all its many blessings.
I believe the single most important thing we can do to bring about positive shifts
in our life, is to have an attitude of gratitude.
A grateful heart acts as a magnet for blessings.

My heartfelt wish for you in 2016 is to dare to dare, and to live your best life yet!

in the beauty of their dreams.”
